Monte Blue was under contract with Warner Brothers between 1923 and 1930 and during this time; along with John Barrymore, Rin Tin Tin and Marie Prevost, became one of the studio's most lucrative stars. In fact, Blue's career in movies went back to 1914 when he began working as an extra in early motion pictures; including 'Birth of a Nation' and 'Intolerance'. Hard-working and dependable, Blue had already established something of a name for himself by the end of the First World War This blog is dedicated to the life and films of Monte Blue; from his childhood in Indiana up to his final years working with the Hamid Morton Circus - and placing particular emphasis on his time with Warner Brothers in the 1920's. I have been a fan of Monte ever since I can remember and would always welcome photographs, newspaper or magazine articles, ephemera, and - if still possible at this late stage - personal memories of Monte and his family background. Please feel free to email me, should you be able to help me in anyway at autumnblaze66@outlook.com Your contributions would always be appreciated.
